Dr. Prashant Mishra is a Hindustani classical violinist and assistant professor at Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan, Jaipur. A BHU alumnus, he is also the author of Violin: Bandish Sangrah.

Biography

Dr. Prashant Mishra is an Indian classical violinist associated with the Hindustani tradition, along with an academic career in music education. He serves as an assistant professor at Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan, Jaipur, a position attained through the Rajasthan Public Service Commission.

An alumnus of Banaras Hindu University and Sunbeam School, Lahartara, he has contributed to music literature through his book Violin: Bandish Sangrah (2022), which focuses on compositions for violin. He has also appeared as a TEDx speaker, addressing themes related to music and education.

Rooted in the Banaras musical tradition, his performances reflect a blend of traditional technique and melodic development. He also collaborates in ensemble presentations with his brothers, performing as the “Mishra Brothers” in both live and digital concert formats.
