Piyush Chauhan is a Kathak exponent from the Jaipur Gharana. He began his training in Tabla under his father, Shri Lalit Chauhan, before shifting his focus to Kathak. He later received formal training at the National Institute of Kathak (Kathak Kendra) in Delhi under the guidance of Shri Rajendra Gangani.
His dance style reflects key features of the Jaipur tradition, particularly complex footwork and strong pirouettes. He is often seen performing with Preeti Sharma, and their collaborative presentations are popularly known as “Piyush-Preeti.”
He came into wider public attention as a finalist on the television show Dance Plus on Star Plus, where he was mentored by Remo D’Souza. His performance career includes appearances at international venues, including a large-audience show at the Apollo Theater in London.
Alongside performing, he is engaged in teaching. He leads the International Training Program (ITP) and conducts virtual workshops, including for the Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company.
