Ojesh Pratap Singh

Ojesh Pratap Singh is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist, teacher, and researcher, trained under Padma Shri Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, one of the foremost exponents of the Gwalior, Jaipur, and Agra gharanas. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Music from the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi, along with a UGC-NET qualification, an M.A. in Hindustani Vocal Music, and a B.Com degree.

Since 1997, he has served in various academic roles, including lecturer, senior lecturer, reader, associate professor, and currently professor at the University of Delhi, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and guiding research scholars. He has successfully supervised seven Ph.D. scholars, with several more ongoing and submitted.

His specialization includes Hindustani vocal compositions and theoretical aspects of Indian music. He has authored the book Hindustani Sangeet Mein Sahitya and published research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has delivered lecture-demonstrations and presented papers at national and international seminars in India, China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius.

An approved artist of All India Radio since 1993 and an empanelled ICCR artist, he has performed widely in India and overseas. His contributions have been recognized with honors such as the National Scholarship (Ministry of Culture), Best Young Classical Vocalist at the National Youth Festival, Sur Mani, Naad Shri, Gaan-Ratna, Sur Srijan Shikhar Samman, and Sangeet Bhaskar. Alongside performance and teaching, he continues to contribute actively as an expert, jury member, academic committee member, and workshop conductor, playing a vital role in the preservation and advancement of Hindustani classical music.
