About
Biography
Neeraj Solanki is trained in Kathak under the guidance of Pt. Rajendra Gangani and is associated with institutions such as the Nalanda Dance Research Centre. His engagement with the form centres on both performance and pedagogy, with a special focus on Padhant, a core element of Kathak in which rhythmic compositions such as tukras, tihais, and parans are recited to establish tala and structure.
He is the founder of Nrityam (established in 2013 in Pune), conceived as a platform dedicated to Kathak learning and practice. As a performer, he appears in classical dance and music festivals and is frequently invited to provide Padhant accompaniment for senior dancers, including appearances at events such as Prajvalan.
Parallel to his artistic career, Solanki works in the field of education. He serves as Senior Verbal Faculty at Career Launcher Pune, teaching for competitive examinations such as CAT, CLAT, MH-CET, and banking services. His professional background includes roles in the corporate and education sectors, reflecting a dual engagement with performing arts and academic training.
