Biography
Manjunath Sattyasheel, widely known by his stage name Manju Drums, is an Indian drummer and percussionist recognised for working across Hindustani and Carnatic classical music, fusion, world music, and film music. His performance approach often includes adapting the modern drum kit to Indian classical and dance settings.
He began learning drums at the age of 11 under Guru B. S. Sukumar (Drums Babu). To strengthen his understanding of rhythm and tala systems, he later trained under noted percussionist Suresh Talwalkar.
Manju Drums has performed in over 25 countries and has appeared at international music festivals and cross-genre collaborations. He has shared the stage with musicians such as Vijay Prakash, Rajesh Krishnan, and Suresh Vaidhyanathan.
He is a recognised Yamaha Artist, endorsing the Yamaha DTX-MULTI12, and also a Vic Firth Artist, reflecting his professional engagement with percussion performance.
On the personal front, he is married to Indian playback singer Ananya Bhat.
