Biography
Kalaimamani Delhi Sairam is a leading Mridangam artist from Chennai and a devoted disciple of Sangitha Kalanidhi Dr. Thiruvarur Sri Bakthavatsalam. He is well known for his clear sound, precise rhythm, and the way he beautifully supports both vocal and instrumental music.
A postgraduate and rank holder in rhythmology from the University of Madras, Sairam has performed widely across India and around the world, including in the US, Canada, Australia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sri Lanka. Over more than two decades, he has shared the stage with many top musicians, such as Flute Ramani, Bombay Jayashri, Sudha Raghunathan, and Ranjani–Gayatri.
As a passionate teacher, Sairam has trained more than 40 students from different countries and is a visiting faculty member at the Kalaikovil Academy of Fine Arts in Toronto, Canada.
His achievements include the Kalaimamani award from the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, and the Best Senior Mridangist award from The Music Academy, Chennai.
