Jay Gandhi

Jay Gandhi is an acclaimed Hindustani classical bansuri (bamboo flute) artist and one of the foremost contemporary flute performers of his generation. A senior disciple of legendary bansuri maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, he blends the depth of traditional Indian classical music with influences from jazz and global musical traditions. Jay began his training in vocal music under Kum Kum Sanyal and later studied bansuri with Pt. Ronu Majumdar and Pt. Raghunath Seth. Based in New York City, he is an internationally touring performer, educator, and a founding member of the Brooklyn Raga Massive collective. Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Ravi Coltrane, Reggie Workman, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and Pharoah Sanders, earning recognition for his expressive artistry and innovative musical vision.
