Anindo Chatterjee

Pandit Anindo Chatterjee (born 30 May 1954) is a world-renowned Indian tabla virtuoso representing the Farrukhabad gharana. Born into a musical family in West Bengal, he began playing at age five and spent three decades under the guidance of the legendary Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh. Known for his incredible speed, clarity, and balanced style, Chatterjee has accompanied India's top classical musicians, including Ravi Shankar and Nikhil Banerjee. He was the first tabla player to perform at the UK House of Commons and has toured in over 60 countries. A recipient of the 2002 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, he remains a towering figure, respected teacher, and dedicated researcher in Indian classical music.
