Biography

Amol Nisal musical training is rooted in the Hindustani vocal tradition. He has received guidance from Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty in Kolkata and from Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare in Pune. His development as a vocalist has been supported through institutional recognition, including the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship in Hindustani Vocal Music awarded by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India.

He has been recognized in competitive and public performance contexts, including winning first prize in nationwide classical music competitions organized by the State Bank of India for three consecutive years. He received the title Amol Gandharva from Anup Jalota and has performed in programs attended by cultural and public figures, including events at Tilak Smarak Mandir, Pune, and in New Delhi.

Nisal has represented Indian music internationally. He was selected as a cultural ambassador to Latin American countries through a Rotary International scholarship, where he performed to introduce Indian classical music to new audiences. He has also toured Australia, presenting concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

Alongside his work as a vocalist, Amol Nisal has sustained a parallel career in engineering and management, reflecting a contemporary balance between classical music practice and professional life. Through regular performance, mentoring, and participation in international cultural exchanges, he continues to present Hindustani vocal music across varied platforms, contributing to its circulation in both traditional concert spaces and wider public contexts in India and abroad.
