Srujana–Dr. Annaji Rao Sirur Rangamandira

Srijana Rangamandir (also known as Dr. Annaji Rao Shirur Auditorium) is a modern performance venue located in Dharwad, Karnataka. The auditorium became fully operational in early 2002 and was established with notable support from philanthropists Dr. Nandan Nilekani and Smt. Rohini Nilekani. Designed to support a wide range of cultural, academic, and public events, it has become a key arts infrastructure for the region.

The main hall offers a seating capacity of around 530 and includes a stage area measuring approximately 13.5 × 13 meters. Its architectural design allows ample backstage space, enabling presentations of large-scale stage productions. Separate green rooms, spacious wings, and a dedicated practice hall help performers prepare comfortably.

To ensure accessibility, the building features a separate entrance and seating for individuals with physical disabilities and a quiet observation room for parents with young children, allowing them to follow the performance without disturbance. The close proximity between the stage and front seating creates an intimate viewing experience for audiences.

At the entrance, visitors encounter long art gallery spaces on either side. These areas are frequently used for exhibitions—from paintings and book displays to scientific posters during academic conferences. Lighting setups can be adapted based on exhibition needs.

Outside the main hall, there is a cafeteria area suitable for event breaks. The venue also includes an open-air theater with lighting and sound provisions, offering an option for outdoor cultural presentations in a natural setting.

Today, Srijana Rangamandir is regarded as an important cultural venue not only for Dharwad but for Karnataka as a whole. The auditorium is managed by a trust and can be booked for performances, seminars, festivals, and other events on a rental basis.
