The Humming Tree

The Humming Tree began in 2013 as a grassroots performance space in Bangalore and quickly grew into one of the city’s most important cultural venues. Over six years, it became a home for independent musicians, artists, writers, and performers, offering a stage to voices that did not fit into commercial circuits. It helped shape Bangalore’s independent scene, hosting concerts, readings, theater, discussions, and community gatherings that defined a generation of creative work in the city.

In 2026, The Humming Tree returns in a new form, built from the ground up in Indiranagar as a purpose-designed cultural space. Spread across 12,000 square feet, the venue houses a 600+-capacity performance hall equipped with world-class sound and lighting systems, allowing it to host concerts, festivals, spoken-word events, theater, screenings, and interdisciplinary performances at scale. Alongside this is a thoughtfully developed food and beverage program that supports long-form engagement, making the space active beyond show hours.
