Esplanade is guided by a core philosophy that the arts belong to all sections of society. This vision is realized through two main formats: annual festivals, which typically run for several days, and curated program series that continue throughout the year, ensuring a consistent and dynamic cultural presence.

As a major cultural institution, Esplanade’s programming reflects the multicultural fabric of modern Singapore, with particular attention to Chinese, Malay, and Indian artistic traditions. Each year, the center presents approximately 3,500 programs, with a significant majority made available free of charge, reinforcing its mission to make the arts an integral and accessible part of everyday life.
