Calcutta Blind School (H.S.) was established in 1894 and is managed by the Tribal/Social Welfare Department. It is located in the urban area of the Kolkata Municipality block in Kolkata district, West Bengal. The school is co-educational and offers classes from Grade 1 to Grade 12, without an attached pre-primary section. Bengali is the medium of instruction, and the academic session begins in April. The campus is accessible by an all-weather road and operates in a rent-free building.

The school has twelve classrooms in good condition, along with two additional rooms for non-teaching activities and a separate room for the Headmaster and teachers. It has an electric connection, a playground, and a library housing around 4,500 books. Facilities include three functional boys’ toilets and five functional girls’ toilets.
