Sandy Springs is a city in north-central Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The area emerged as a residential suburb of Atlanta in the mid-20th century and incorporated as a city in 2005. Its name derives from natural springs that historically fed into the Chattahoochee River, a site frequented by the Cherokee people before European settlement.

The city spans approximately 38.8 square miles (99.9 km²) and borders the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Sandy Springs serves as a hub for corporate offices, including the headquarters of United Parcel Service (UPS), Mercedes-Benz USA, and regional operations for Cox Enterprises. The Perimeter Center business district, shared with adjacent Dunwoody, ranks among metro Atlanta’s largest employment centers.

Cultural institutions in Sandy Springs include the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, which preserves local history through exhibits on Cherokee heritage, 19th-century farming, and post-World War II suburban development. The city hosts annual events such as the Sandy Springs Festival (founded 1984), featuring live music, artisan markets, and food vendors. The City Springs civic complex (opened 2018) integrates a performing arts center, government offices, and public green spaces.

Notable landmarks include the Morgan Falls Overlook Park, offering riverfront trails and a dam constructed in 1904 for hydroelectric power.
