About Shivaganga Sangeetha Parishath

Sivaganga Sangeetha Parishad was founded in 2000 as a charitable trust to nurture and preserve India’s classical music and dance traditions. The institution was established under the guidance and blessings of Satguru Sri Sivananda Murty, reflecting a vision rooted in cultural continuity and scholarly engagement.

Functioning prominently through the Andhra Music Academy, the organization has played a consistent role in presenting structured festivals, lecture-demonstrations, and curated performances featuring eminent senior musicians as well as promising younger artists.

The academy has been led by distinguished administrators and academicians, including Sri R. Prabhakar Rao, I.P.S. (Retd.), who served as president, and Sri Seshaiah Sastry, former principal of Sri Thyagaraja Government Music College, Hyderabad, who served as secretary.

Among its major initiatives are

  • Annual Music & Dance Festivals featuring leading performers and scholars
  • Conferment of prestigious titles such as Sangeeta Vidyanidhi and Natya Vidyanidhi
  • Organisation of the Swara Samarat Festival (SSF)
  • Regional Dusserah mini-festivals titled Sarada Sangeetothsavam

Through these activities, the Parishad has established itself as a significant cultural body supporting both performance and scholarship within the classical arts ecosystem.
