Raza Foundation

The Raza Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the arts, culture, and ideas. Established in 2001 by the renowned modern Indian artist Sayed Haider Raza, the foundation works to create meaningful platforms for dialogue across disciplines, including visual art, music, dance, literature, and philosophy.

The foundation organizes a wide range of activities—talks, panel discussions, concerts, exhibitions, and festivals—across nearly 20 cities each year. Its programs aim to expand audiences for classical and contemporary arts while supporting emerging artists through fellowships, publications, and curated platforms.

Key initiatives include Aarambh, Art Matters, Raza Utsav, poetry festivals, memorial lecture series, and the Raza Fellowship, all of which contribute to nurturing critical engagement and creative exchange. The foundation has also collaborated with institutions such as the India Habitat Centre, the India International Centre, and the Triveni Kala Sangam.

Through its ongoing efforts, the foundation supports research, documentation, and publication projects, including an extensive body of Hindi books on art, philosophy, and culture, while continuing to promote both established and emerging voices in the arts.
