The M.A. Narasimhachar Music Foundation (MANMF) is a non-profit cultural organisation established to honour the legacy of Sangeetha Bhushana Vidwan M.A. Narasimhachar, an influential Carnatic vocalist and educator. Based in Bengaluru, the foundation promotes Carnatic music through annual festivals, concert series, commemorative events, lecture-demonstrations, and artist recognition programs. It provides a platform for both senior maestros and emerging musicians while encouraging greater appreciation of South Indian classical music among audiences. Through its cultural initiatives, awards, and educational activities, the foundation continues to contribute to the preservation and advancement of Carnatic music traditions.
History
The foundation was created to preserve the musical legacy of Vidwan M.A. Narasimhachar, founder of the Gana Kala Mandira music school in 1942 and a respected figure in Karnataka’s Carnatic music community. Building upon his contributions as a performer, teacher, and patron of the arts, the organisation evolved into an active cultural institution in Bengaluru. Over the years, MANMF has organised annual music festivals, centenary celebrations, award ceremonies, and special concerts featuring renowned artists and young prodigies.
