Ajivasan Music and Dance Academy

Ajivasan Music Academy is an established center for music and dance education in India, guided by the principles of the Guru-Shishya Parampara. The academy works under the artistic leadership of Pandit Suresh Wadkar, along with Prem Wadkar and Padma Wadkar. It continues a musical legacy that spans more than nine decades.

The academy offers training in a wide range of disciplines, including Indian classical vocal, Bollywood vocal, Western vocal, sitar, guitar, keyboard, flute, djembe, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and hip hop dance. Each course follows a structured curriculum with periodic assessments. Students receive certificates, with select courses affiliated to institutions such as Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, and Trinity School of Music.

Ajivasan operates through multiple formats—classroom learning across more than 10 branches in Mumbai, home tuitions within the city, and online classes for students worldwide. This allows learners of different age groups and locations to access training according to their convenience.

Beyond classroom teaching, the academy conducts regular events, open riyaaz sessions, workshops, and performance platforms such as annual programs and seasonal festivals. These activities provide students with stage exposure and practical experience.

Ajivasan is supported by a board of advisors that includes Ustad Zakir Hussain, Hema Malini, Anup Jalota, and Sanjay Chitale. Through its academic structure and performance-based approach, the academy functions as an organizer and educator within India’s classical and performing arts ecosystem.
