Sudhamayi is a studio album of Carnatic instrumental music released in 1985 by saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath. Aananda Audio Video issued the recording on CD, marking one of the early commercial releases to feature the saxophone as a lead instrument in the Carnatic tradition. The album comprises traditional compositions adapted for the saxophone, retaining core melodic and rhythmic structures of the genre.

The third track, Amruthavarshini, spans 8 minutes and 22 seconds. Gopalnath performs the raga Amruthavarshini (a janya raga derived from the 65th melakarta Mechakalyani) with accompaniment typical of Carnatic ensembles, though specific collaborating artists for this release remain undocumented in available sources. The composition follows the kriti format, with improvisational segments including neraval and kalpana swaram.

The album title Sudhamayi translates to \"filled with nectar\" in Sanskrit, reflecting the devotional and lyrical themes common in Gopalnath’s repertoire. His adaptation of the saxophone—an instrument without precedent in classical Indian music at the time—required modifications to fingering techniques and breath control to emulate the gamaka-rich phrasing of vocal and string instruments.
