About Insight
Insight is a studio album by violinist and composer Jyotsna Srikanth. Released on October 6, 2005, under the Fountain Music Company label, the album presents a collection of Carnatic classical compositions performed on the violin. The work features seven tracks that explore traditional ragas and talas through instrumental arrangements.
Jyotsna Srikanth composed and performed all tracks on the album. The repertoire includes a ragamalika in Trishra Eka titled Chinnanjirikiliye, followed by Gajananayutam set to Chakravakam in Adi Talam. The track Janani Ninnuvina employs Ritigovla in Mishra Chapu, while Kantachoodumi uses Vachaspati in Adi Talam. The album also features Raghvamsha in Kadanakutuhalam and a tillana in Ratipatipriya, both in Adi Talam. The closing track is a varna in Kalyani set to Atta Talam.
