Gem Tones is a studio album by Indian saxophonist and Carnatic musician Kadri Gopalnath. The label Ace released the album on April 18, 2000 in compact disc format. The recording marks Gopalnath’s exploration of Carnatic classical music through the saxophone, an instrument he adapted for the genre.
The album contains six tracks. Vinayakuni Ninnu opens the collection with a composition in praise of Lord Ganesha, set in a traditional Carnatic framework. Nada Tanumanisham follows with a melodic structure emphasizing the interplay between saxophone and accompanying instruments.
