Yogita Raikar

Yogita Raikar is a rising Hindustani classical vocalist from Kudal, Maharashtra, recognized for her disciplined approach to raga-based music and her expressive command over Marathi Natyasangeet. She began her musical training at the age of nine under Rajan Madye in Kudal, laying a strong foundation in classical vocal practice. She later pursued formal higher education in music, earning a postgraduate degree in arts and the prestigious Sangeet Alankar from the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai.

Her advanced training under Pt. Ramrao Nayak has shaped her musical depth and stylistic clarity. Yogita’s repertoire includes demanding raagas such as Shyamkalyan, Bhairavi, Shuddh Sarang, and Bhinna Shadaj, alongside a refined presentation of Marathi Natyasangeet compositions, including widely admired renditions of “Lagi Kalejva Katar.” Her performances reflect a balance of technical precision, raga integrity, and emotional resonance.

Professionally, she serves as a vocal faculty member at Damodar Sangeet Vidyalaya in Margao, Goa, contributing actively to music education and the transmission of classical tradition. In 2024, she emerged as the winner (Group 2) of Yuva Sur Sartaj, a national talent hunt organized by the Dedhia Music Foundation, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Yogita has also been featured in multiple episodes of the DMF Studio Series, presenting classical raagas and devotional repertoire for wider audiences. In addition, she earned recognition in the Limca Book of Records for a historic multi-instrument performance, an achievement associated in some records under the name Yogita Arun Tambe.
