Yadnesh Raikar

Shri Yadnesh Raikar is one of the most remarkable young talents in Indian classical music today. He began studying the violin at the age of two and stepped onto the stage as a performer at just four years old. Born into a musical household, Yadnesh is the son and disciple of the renowned violinist Swarpradnya Pandit Milind Raikar. His musical growth has been further enriched by the blessings and guidance of Ganasaraswati Kishori Amonkar. Alongside the violin, he received vocal training from Anand Pednekar and the late Pt. Vasantrao Kadnekar, giving his music a strong melodic grounding.

Yadnesh gave his first solo recital at the age of four in front of an audience of over 600 music lovers. Since then, he has appeared at some of the most prestigious platforms, including the Hridayesh Arts Festival, the Rajab Ali Khan Mahotsav in Indore, the Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki Festival in Goa, the Sangeet Shankar Darbar Festival in Nanded, and the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav in Pune. He has performed at major venues such as NCPA, Nehru Centre, IIT Madras and Bombay, Indradhanu Thane, and Juhu Humara Festival.

Internationally, Yadnesh has represented Indian classical music at the Seattle World Music Festival in 2018 and has toured the UAE and the USA twice in his “Legacy” tour with his father. He has also appeared as a young celebrity violinist at the Lakme Kids Fashion Week. His artistic journey extends beyond the classical stage—he has sung in an album alongside Hariharan and Asha Bhosle and portrayed young Pt. D. V. Paluskar in the documentary Gaanyogi, performing both vocally and on the violin.

Yadnesh has received several prestigious honors, including the Uttung Puraskar, Pt. V. D. Paluskar Award, and the Bharat Ratna Dr. M. S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship Award, presented by the Hon’ble Vice President of India. He has performed before eminent dignitaries such as the President of India, the Chief Minister and Governor of Maharashtra, the Mayor of Dallas, and the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. His journey reflects a rare blend of tradition, talent, and promise, marking him as a torchbearer of the violin in Indian classical music.
