Pandit Venkatesh Purohit is a Bengaluru-based manjira (hand cymbals) and taala artist known for his role in Hindustani classical and devotional music performances. Specializing in rhythmic accompaniment, he contributes to genres such as abhang, vachana, and dasara pada, where precise tala support is essential to the structure of vocal concerts.
He is most frequently associated with Pandit M. Venkatesh Kumar and has also accompanied leading artists, including Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi and Mahesh Kale. His performances are featured across concert stages and digital platforms such as the MadRasana YouTube channel and cultural venues like the Bangalore International Centre, reflecting his active presence in the Indian classical music circuit.
