V. Anirudh Athreya is a celebrated figure in the realm of Carnatic music, particularly renowned for his exceptional skills as a kanjira artist. Thyagarajan, was an accomplished violinist, while his grand-uncle, V. Nagarajan, is revered as a legend in kanjira performance. This nurturing environment provided Anirudh with a solid foundation in music from an early age.
Anirudh began his formal training in kanjira at the tender age of nine, demonstrating an early affinity for rhythm and percussion. His pursuit of excellence led him to seek additional guidance from T.K. Murthy, a well-respected figure in the field, who helped refine Anirudh's technique and deepened his understanding of the intricacies of rhythm.
