Biography

Born into a musically inclined family, Tejovrush Sunil Joshi grew up in an environment shaped by classical sound and disciplined practice. His mother, Smt. Shalmalee Joshi, is a noted vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, while his father, Shri Sunil Joshi, is a respected music composer. Surrounded by music from an early age, Tejovrush developed a natural attraction towards rhythm and chose the tabla as his path.

He received more than thirteen years of rigorous training under the late Pandit Bapusaheb Patwardhan of the Farrukhabad gharana, a lineage connected to the legacy of Ustad Ahmedjaan Thirakhwa Khan. This long and focused tutelage shaped his foundation in traditional technique and discipline.

Tejovrush has performed tabla solo at many respected venues across India and abroad. His dedication has been recognised through numerous awards at intercollegiate, state, and national levels. He stands among the few young artists of his generation who remain committed to pursuing Hindustani classical music as a lifelong journey.
