Tejaswini Vernekar

Tejaswini Digamber Vernekar is a distinguished voice in Hindustani classical vocal music, shaped by over twenty years of rigorous and sincere training. Her early initiation into music began under Vidushi Jayalakshmi Bhat, laying a strong foundation in classical discipline. She later flourished under the guidance of Vidushi Lakshmi B. Hegde and Pandit G. R. Bhat, whose mentorship refined her understanding of raga, structure, and expression.

Her pursuit of excellence led her to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata, where she deepened her artistic vision in a traditional guru-shishya environment. Alongside this, she pursued higher academic learning at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, earning a gold medal for her achievements. She also secured top ranks in esteemed examinations such as Sangeet Alankaar conducted by Akhila Bharata Gandharva Mahamandala.

Tejaswini’s talent has been recognized through multiple scholarships, including support from the National Centre for Performing Arts and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Her journey on stage reflects consistent growth and dedication. She has emerged victorious in competitions ranging from Pune’s International Swara Prabha Classical Vocal Music to national-level contests organized by All India Radio.

Her performances span across India, from the sacred atmosphere of Udupi Shri Krishna Temple to the historic Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan in Punjab. She has also appeared at platforms such as the Festival of Indian Classical Music in Tripura, Subah-e-Banaras in Varanasi, and the Moonlight Festival in Karnataka. At each venue, her voice carries clarity, balance, and emotional depth.
