Biography
Suraj Nirwan is an Indian classical tabla artist who represents the Dilli Gharana tradition. Alongside tabla, he is also a vocalist, songwriter, and composer. He is the eldest son and disciple of renowned tabla maestro Pandit Subhash Nirwan.
His work combines performance, composition, and teaching, with a strong emphasis on rhythm, sound, and traditional knowledge systems. He founded Naad Dhyanam, an initiative centered on meditation through tabla bols and sonic awareness.
As a teacher, Suraj Nirwan offers tabla training rooted in authentic compositions and traditional techniques, while also addressing the needs of both beginner and advanced students. His approach focuses on rhythmic clarity, discipline, and the balance between artistic practice and daily life.
