Biography
Born into a musical family, Suparno Bhowmick began his journey in Hindustani classical music at the age of eight. His first formal training took place under Sandip Ghosh, an eminent disciple of Pandit A. T. Kanan Sahib, where he spent three years learning within the Kirana Gharana tradition. These early years built his foundation in discipline, tone, and musical sensitivity.
Alongside his higher education, Suparno continued his vocal training under the guidance of Vidwan Shri Omkar Dadarkar, under whom he remains a dedicated student. In 2022, he completed his master’s degree in vocal music (Khayal) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, graduating with first class.
His growing presence in the field is marked by notable achievements, including First Position at the Chetla Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani and First Position at the ISO Certified Bharat Sanskriti Utsab in 2019 and 2020.
Suparno believes that while music is shaped by the mind, it is the passion of the heart that drives a learner forward. This balance of thought and emotion defines his approach, guiding him to explore classical music with sincerity, hunger, and purpose.
