Biography
Suhas Vyas is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist and one of the leading representatives of the Gwalior, Agra, and Kirana gharanas. Born on 26 October 1949 in Osmanabad, Maharashtra, he received his early and intensive musical training from his father and guru, the legendary Padma Bhushan Pandit C. R. Vyas. A Top Grade artist of All India Radio, Suhas Vyas has performed at prestigious music festivals across India and internationally for over five decades. Known for his scholarly approach, rich repertoire, and expressive rendition of khayal, he has also dedicated himself to teaching, lecture-demonstrations, and preserving the musical legacy of his father. His contributions to Indian classical music have earned him numerous honors, including the Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru National Award. Through performances, recordings, and mentorship, he continues to inspire audiences and students alike while upholding the finest traditions of Hindustani classical music.
