Biography
Soumya Rupanagudi is a Bharatanatyam dancer trained under Guru Smt. Suma Nagesh, Director of Natyashree School of Dance. She began learning dance at a young age and has continued to grow through disciplined training and regular stage experience. Soumya has performed in several Natyashree productions and has represented Bharatanatyam on respected cultural platforms such as Nadaneeranjanam (TTD-Tirumala) and DD Chandana.
She has been awarded a senior scholarship by the Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Government of Karnataka. Soumya has also completed cultural examinations up to the Vidhwat level from the Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board, demonstrating her strong foundation in the classical art form.
Her repertoire highlights both expressive storytelling (abhinaya) and rhythmic movement (nritta), reflecting a balance of tradition, technique, and emotive presentation. Soumya continues to explore the rich heritage of Bharatanatyam while sharing its beauty with diverse audiences.
