Biography

Sayan Chatterjee (born 1983) is a Hindustani classical harmonium player from Kolkata, recognized as both a soloist and a sought-after accompanist for vocal music. He received advanced training from harmonium maestro Pt. Sohanlal Sharma, which shaped his strong foundation in raga presentation and accompaniment aesthetics.

He is known for a gayaki-ang approach on the harmonium, aiming to closely reflect vocal nuances. His repertoire includes ragas such as Charukeshi, Miya Ki Malhar, and Shyam Kalyan. Chatterjee frequently accompanies vocalists including Arjun Roy, Sohini Roy Chowdhury, and Amrita Chatterjee.

He has appeared at platforms such as the Chowdhury House Music Conference, Dharohar Music Conference, and programs organized by the Aashish Khan School of World Music.
