Satya Chowdhury was a Bengali singer known for performing modern Bengali songs and Nazrul-geeti. He was born on 17 September 1918 in Kolkata, India, and his family originally belonged to Rajshahi in undivided Bengal. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, he developed a deep interest in music from a young age.
During his early years, Satya Chowdhury trained in classical and semi-classical music, which helped him build a strong foundation in singing. His voice was known for its sweetness and emotional expression, allowing him to present songs with great clarity and feeling. These qualities helped him gain appreciation among listeners of Bengali music.
