Samanvi

Samanvi is a Carnatic vocalist from Udupi, Karnataka, recognized as a promising artist in the contemporary Carnatic music concert circuit. She is widely known for her vocal duet performances with Archana Upadhyaya; together they are often referred to as the Archana-Samanvi duo or the Latangi Sisters. Their performances are noted for coordinated voice blending and adherence to the traditional structure of Carnatic vocal concerts.

Samanvi began her musical training under Smt. Radhika Shankar, later continuing her studies with Prof. Aravinda Hebbar and Vidushi Vasanthalaxmi Hebbar. She further refined her training under the late Ranjani Hebbar and the eminent musician Chitravina N. Ravikiran, gaining exposure to the deeper aspects of raga development, composition interpretation, and improvisational elements within Carnatic music.

Her performances have been presented across major South Indian music centers, including Chennai and Bengaluru, as well as at festivals such as the Madrasana Festival. In 2021, she received the The Hindu–SaReGaMa M.S. Subbulakshmi Award (Voice of the Year), recognizing her emerging presence in Carnatic music. Known for qualities such as shruthi shuddham (precision of pitch) and pathanthara (faithful rendering of compositions), P. Samanvi continues to contribute to the Carnatic concert tradition through both solo and collaborative performances.
