Salil Tambe is a UK-based tabla player trained under Pt. Ramdas Palsule, performing solo and in collaborations across the UK and Europe. An IT professional with an MBA, he also practices photography

Biography

Saleel’s background combines formal technical education with long-term engagement in creative and cultural fields. Professionally, he has worked in the IT sector across different countries. Outside his professional life, he is involved in photography, writing, and multimedia projects and maintains interests in travel, wildlife, and culinary exploration.

In photography, his practice focuses largely on nature and conservation themes. He has received international recognition for his work and holds the ARPS qualification from the Royal Photographic Society. His photographs and written work have appeared in print and online publications. He is actively involved with nature and conservation organizations as an advisor and mentor and regularly conducts talks, workshops, and presentations.

In music, Saleel comes from a family with a performance background and has pursued advanced training in tabla under Pt. Ramdas Palsule. He performs both as a soloist and as an accompanist at venues in the UK and Europe and is involved in collaborative projects across musical traditions. His performances and recordings appear on CDs, DVDs, film productions, and online platforms, and he conducts workshops and lecture-demonstrations on Indian rhythm and percussion.
