Sahana Banerjee

Vidushi Sahana Banerjee is one of India’s leading sitar players and a distinguished representative of the Rampur-Senia Gharana. Born into a family deeply rooted in music, she began learning vocal music from her mother, Mrs. Chhabi Banerjee, and later trained in sitar under her father, Pandit Santhosh Banerjee, a renowned Sitar and Surbahar maestro. Guided by this rich musical heritage, Sahana developed a style that beautifully blends tradition with expression. Her music is known for its balance of emotion and precision, combining depth, grace, and power in every performance.
