Biography

Roopkumar Rathod belongs to a distinguished musical lineage, being the son of Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod and the younger brother of composers and singers Shravan Rathod and Vinod Rathod. He made his playback debut in 1992 and steadily built a reputation for lending depth and restraint to film compositions.

Over the years, Roopkumar has contributed to a wide range of Indian cinema, singing in numerous languages and collaborating with leading composers. Songs such as Sandese Aate Hai,” “Maula Mere Maula,” and Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai became defining moments of his career. Beyond films, he has remained active as a live performer, often appearing with his wife Sunali Rathod in ghazal, Sufi, and light classical concerts worldwide. He has also explored fusion projects with noted musicians, reflecting his openness to diverse musical forms. In recognition of his contribution to Indian music, he has received national honors, including the Lokmat Sur Jyotsna National Music Award
