Biography
Rindana Rahasya is a Hindustani classical vocalist specializing in vocal music, with a strong academic and performance-based foundation. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Hindustani Classical Music in 2011, followed by a master’s degree in 2013, an M.Phil. in 2014, and a Ph.D. in Music in 2020, all from the University of Delhi. Under the guru–shishya parampara, she received advanced musical training from Vidushi Uma Garg, a disciple of Pandit Maniprasad and Pandit Bhimsen Joshi of the Kirana Gharana. She is a gold medalist in her master’s program and secured top university rankings during her M.Phil. studies.
Professionally, she serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Music, University of Delhi, where she teaches Hindustani vocal music across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including B.A. (Hons.), M.A., and Shiromani courses. Her academic work includes several research articles published in indexed and peer-reviewed journals, covering subjects such as bandish analysis, Hindustani musicology, and regional musical traditions.
Rindana Rahasya has been honored with multiple awards, including the Tushar Pandit Memorial Gold Medal, the Smt. V. Vani Bai Ram Memorial Medal, and the Lala Jugal Kishore Jagdish Prasad Memorial Prize. She is also a recipient of the UGC NET–JRF, the POSCO Asia Fellowship, and other academic scholarships. An ‘A’ graded artist of All India Radio, she is actively associated with SPIC MACAY and regularly participates in initiatives aimed at promoting Hindustani classical music among young audiences.
