About
Biography
Rashid Khan Langa is a traditional folk and Sufi singer from the Langa community of Rajasthan, originating from Phalaudi Village in Jodhpur. With a musical journey that began at the age of 10, he trained under Ustad Ajid Khan and developed a strong foundation in both Rajasthani folk and Sufi music. While he is skilled in both genres, Rashid leans towards Sufi singing, drawn by its emotional depth and spiritual expression.
He leads the Rashid Khan Langa Group, performing with traditional instruments such as dholak, khartaal, and sarangi. Unlike many in his community who focus on instrumental performance, Rashid chose vocal music for its sense of peace and personal connection. His singing style reflects the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan while maintaining an engaging and expressive stage presence.
Rashid Khan Langa has performed extensively across India and internationally, including in South Korea, Egypt, Malaysia, and Abu Dhabi. His work is available on platforms like Spotify, JioSaavn, and Amazon Music, with albums such as Sound Of Desert Vol-2 and Sound Of Desert Vol. 3. Some of his popular songs include “Kesariya Banna,” “Panihari,” “Halariyo,” “Lehriyo,” and “Jhirmir Barse Mein,” contributing to his growing recognition in global folk and Sufi music circuits.
