Ramkumar Mishra

Pandit Ramkumar Mishra (born 16 June 1964) is an Indian tabla player from the Banaras Gharana. He is known for his playing style, strong rhythm, and creative expression. Born in Varanasi in a family of musicians, he learned tabla from his grandfather Pandit Anokhe Lal Mishra and his uncle Vijay Shankar Mishra. His father, Pandit Chhannulal Mishra, is a famous classical singer. Pandit Ramkumar Mishra has performed at many music festivals in India and other countries like Europe and the U.S. He also teaches young students and works to keep the Banaras Gharana tradition alive.
