Raghunath Seth

Pandit Raghunath Seth (1931–2014) was a Hindustani classical bansuri artist and composer. Born in Gwalior, he began his training under his elder brother Kashi Prasad and later studied with Dr. S. N. Ratanjankar. He further trained under Pandit Pannalal Ghosh of the Maihar gharana.

He was known for his contributions to the bansuri technique, including modifications to the instrument such as the addition of a bamboo key and an extra hole to extend its tonal range and facilitate complex phrases like meend.

In addition to his work in classical music, he composed for films, private albums, and over 2000 documentary projects. His work included collaborations with leading playback singers and contributions to film and television music.

He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1994 and was also active as a teacher, with students across India and internationally.
