Prantar Karmakar is a professional tabla player working in the Hindustani classical tradition, known for clarity of rhythm, control of tempo, and a thoughtful approach to accompaniment. He performs both as a soloist and as an accompanist for vocal and instrumental music, contributing to traditional concert settings as well as curated recital series.
He has appeared in notable programs such as a tabla recital for the Thursday Evening Ragas series curated by Hindoli Banerjee. As an accompanist, he has shared the stage with artists including vocalist Shri Aniruddha Nath and harmonium player Shri Suraj Sharma in concerts organized by groups like the Sarb Akal Music Society of Calgary.
