Parvathy Baul

Parvathy Baul (also spelled as Parvaty Baul) is an eminent Baul singer, musician, and spiritual practitioner dedicated to preserving and propagating the Baul mystic tradition of Bengal. Born in 1976, she trained under renowned Baul gurus including Sanatan Das Baul and Shashanko Goshai, immersing herself in the oral, musical, and philosophical lineage of this centuries-old devotional path.

A powerful vocalist and performer, Parvathy Baul accompanies herself on traditional instruments such as the ektara, duggi, and nupur (ankle bells). Her performances combine music, storytelling, and spiritual expression, reflecting the Baul philosophy that emphasizes inner realization, universal love, and the search for the divine within.

She has performed widely in India and internationally, presenting Baul music at major festivals and cultural forums. Through her Gurukul and the Ektara Baul Music Kalari in Kerala, she trains students in Baul music, philosophy, and performance practice.
