Biography

Pallavi Anand’s journey in Bharatanatyam reflects sustained training across institutions, teachers, and performance contexts. After her foundational training and arangetram in Bengaluru, she pursued advanced studies in Chennai at Bharata Kalanjali, working closely with the Dhananjayans, and later developed her abhinaya under Bragha Bessel. Her artistic development has also included guidance from Divya Shiva Sundar, Seeta Patel, and continued mentorship from Mavin Khoo.

Alongside Bharatanatyam, Pallavi has briefly explored Mohiniattam and undertaken training in mridangam and nattuvangam, which have contributed to her understanding of rhythm and musical structure in dance. Her performance experience includes solo, duet, and group presentations across India, the UK, and abroad. She toured internationally as one of the principal dancers in Akram Khan Company’s Outwitting the Devil. Pallavi has received awards, including Akademi’s YUVA Award (2016), Nritya Ratna from Trinity Arts Festival, and Nritya Priyadarshini from Natyapriya. She is a member of the teaching faculty at Upahaar School of Dance in London.
