Biography
Padmaraj Upadhyaya is a professional tabla player based in Mumbai, actively engaged in Hindustani classical music as well as contemporary and fusion performances. As an accompanist, he has performed alongside established artists including Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi and Dr. Vidyabhushana, contributing to both classical vocal recitals and devotional music presentations.
In addition to his performance career, he is the founder of Swartaal Sangam Music Academy, where he conducts training sessions, home concerts, and educational initiatives aimed at nurturing emerging musicians. His work as an educator complements his performance practice, supporting the transmission of tabla traditions to new learners.
Padmaraj Upadhyaya has also participated in notable platforms such as the GSB Seva Mandal Ganesh Utsav and Yuva Pratibha Baithak, reflecting his presence within both traditional and emerging music circuits. Alongside classical accompaniment, he engages with modern formats through collaborative performances and digital content, expanding the reach of tabla within diverse musical contexts.
