Neyveli R. Narayanan

Neyveli R. Narayanan is a Carnatic mridangam artist born on 21 July 1967 in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. He received formal training from Neyveli Ganesha Pillai and later from Thanjavur Upendran, representing the Thanjavur School of mridangam. Recognized as a top-grade artist by All India Radio, he has performed widely in Indian classical music concerts across India and abroad. In addition to performance, he has conducted workshops at several cultural institutions internationally. His recognitions include Asthana Vidwan of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam (2006), Vani Kala Sudhakara (2010), Laya Vadya Chathura (2014), Nada Vallabha (2019), and the Palghat Mani Iyer Puraskar (2023). He received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2023.
