Biography

Naynesh Pimpale is an Indian classical tabla player, composer, and rhythm arranger associated with the Delhi gharana tradition. He began his training at the age of nine under the guidance of his grandfather and elder brother, the late Pt. Eknath Pimpale established a strong foundation in Hindustani classical rhythm and accompaniment.

While rooted in classical music, Pimpale has developed a versatile performance practice spanning Indian classical and semi-classical forms, Sufi and ghazal music, folk-fusion projects, and theater productions. He has accompanied classical vocalists, collaborated on Sufi presentations, and contributed to musical theatre works. His Sufi engagements include performances with the Murshidabadi Project in productions such as Saat Maqaam Ishq Ke.

In the folk and fusion space, he serves as a lead percussionist for Shades Of Desi Folk, a project blending Maharashtrian Lavani and Rajasthani folk traditions with contemporary arrangements. His theater work includes musical productions presented with senior stage and film actors, reflecting his adaptability across formats.

In recent years, Naynesh Pimpale has remained active on the Indian concert circuit, performing at festivals, thematic Sufi presentations, and cultural events. His appearances include festival performances in Lucknow, folk presentations in Maharashtra, and Sufi Basant-themed events celebrating syncretic musical traditions.
