Biography
Mudassir Khan is a contemporary Indian sarangi player representing the rich musical heritage of the Kairana Gharana. Trained by his grandfather, the late Ustad Asif Ali, he combines traditional sarangi techniques with a deep understanding of Hindustani classical music. Recognised for the expressive and vocal-like qualities of his playing, he performs in classical concerts, baithaks, and collaborative projects both in India and internationally. His work spans traditional raga performance as well as cross-cultural musical initiatives, introducing the sound of the sarangi to diverse audiences. Through live performances, recordings, and digital platforms, Mudassir Khan continues to promote and expand appreciation for one of India's most distinctive classical instruments.
