About
Biography
Martin Dubois is a French multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist active in the fields of world music, jazz, and sound-based meditative practices. Trained in jazz, percussion, and composition at conservatories in France and at the CIM Jazz School in Paris, he has built an international career spanning more than two decades.
His performance practice includes a wide range of instruments such as kora (West African harp-lute), handpan, bansuri, kena, and frame drums, along with Mongolian overtone throat singing and live looping. His musical language draws from jazz, African rhythmic traditions, Indian classical influences, funk, and global folk forms, often combining structured composition with improvisation.
In addition to concerts and festival appearances, Dubois is engaged in sound-healing contexts, including yoga collaborations, meditative concerts, and educational workshops. He has performed both as a solo artist and with collaborative ensembles and has also participated in interactive and community-based projects. His work is frequently associated with cross-cultural dialogue, contemporary world music performance, and the therapeutic dimensions of sound.
