Biography
Mahima Upadhyay is a pioneering pakhawaj artist from Bihar, recognized as the state’s first female practitioner of the instrument. She completed her master’s degree in music from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, one of India’s premier institutions for classical arts. Alongside her specialized training in pakhawaj, she is also formally trained in Indian classical vocal music. A nationally awarded artist, Mahima has performed widely across the country and has been featured on prestigious national broadcasters, including All India Radio and Doordarshan, establishing her presence in India’s classical music landscape.
